B/X Campaign Book & International Backers
almost 4 years ago – Wed, Jul 22, 2020 at 01:24:46 AM

Hello, friends!

I have two major updates for you! I will break them up so you can pick out the information you'd like! :)

48 Hours Left on Path of the Vanished

Our first B/X campaign book, Path of the Vanished, has less than 48 hours until the Kickstarter is over! We hit a major stretch goal at 300 backers that makes the book levels 1-10 instead of levels 3-10. If you are loving exploring the world of B/X again, you'll love this book! There is also a 5e option if you want both! Click here, the picture, or copy and paste the link the be taken there!

International Backers

Another batch of orders are being resent tomorrow. Looks like we have gotten through just about every person who did not receive their goodies. If you have not messaged us yet, please message us here! Looks like backers in the UK and Italy are starting to receive the books/boxes now!

All the best,

Ben Barsh

Wrapping it all up and New Things
almost 4 years ago – Thu, Jun 18, 2020 at 10:53:31 PM

As we move forward to new things we want to send a sincere thanks to all of you who have backed this project. Not everything went as planned and some of that for the better and some not (basically, the delays). That said, we are more than humbled by all the support and kind words we have received during this project. I have a few topics to cover so here we go.

International Backers: This is our first order of business. We are now asking all international backers that have not received their pledges to contact us directly at:   [email protected].  For whatever reason, there seem to be a handful that have not received their pledges that were mailed now more than a month ago. I know things can get held up and we do get notes that some are still being delivered; however, we want to be proactive and will mail out new sets directly from Pacesetter so we can track the customs number to delivery. We do apologize for this situation, but we are committed to seeing this through to every backer. Again, please use the email for any correspondence - it is the only way to make sure we know your situation. On receiving your email, we will re-package and forward a customs number for tracking. Please include your current address in the email contact - we really don't want to send any a third time. Our since thanks!

Missing Items: If you are missing an item, please let us know immediately via email:  [email protected]. We know some BX15 modules were missed in some deliveries; this was an add-on purchase and we have notes on those that were missed but in case we missed one of you, I want to cover all bases. Out of all the revised Dungeon Guides that went out, I think we had two returns with bad addresses. Again, if you did not receive, let us know at [email protected]

Future BX RPG Core Rules: At this time we have no plans to immediately reprint the core books (Dungeon Guide and Player's Guide). We will continue to make some additions and modifications (clean up some typos, etc.) and forward those to all backers via PDF. As a Kickstarter backer, we will always send you a PDF of any updated version. The books are also going into retail distribution so we can expand the opportunity for more people to play BX! Again, our thanks for making this possible. These PDFs will be delivered through BackerKit.

Convention Report: We had planned on debuting the BX RPG in retail form at the recent North Texas RPG Con, but events of the day changed that plan. We did participate in Virtual NTX and ran three rounds of the D&D Tournament (10th annual event) with excellent success! We also ran a couple individual events using BX. Lastly, Steve Marsh (yeah, that Steve Marsh) wrote a new BX adventure module which we produced for the convention. We have already confirmed that we are running the D&D Tournament next year at NTX using BX. Our plan is to run a BX tournament at Gary Con next year - you heard that here first!

Missed Purchasing Add-ons: If you missed purchasing add-ons via BackerKit, you can now order directly through our website (pacesettergames.com). We have unlocked all the currently BX titles for purchase in print and PDF form.

New BX Products: Pacesetter is fully committed to BX and it will remain a significant part of our new product schedule. Our first three adventure modules were designed for BX 12 years ago. Moving forward through the next year, we are re-releasing dozens of modules from our product line in BX RPG format.

Path of the Vanished: Shortly, we are launching our latest Kickstarter project, Path of the Vanished. This 120-page, full-color, hardcover book is complete adventure campaign for characters starting at third level and takes them through approximately 7th to 8th level. We've included the wrap-around cover in this update.

Path of the Vanished - A BX Campaign

I know I may sound like a broken record, but thank you! We are committed to BX and your support is more than appreciated.

And in case we have any Gamma World lovers out there...

GammaX - Coming to Kickstarter 2020.

A few notes
almost 4 years ago – Sat, Jun 06, 2020 at 06:41:10 PM

International Backers: We continue to monitor the delivery of international rewards and while not thrilling, they are slowly arriving. Again, we don’t have any control over international shipping at this time – seemingly the Covid issue is still affecting this. Some countries are moving/delivering faster than others as a whole. It seems Germany, England, and Canada have been the fastest, while Australia and France are particularly slow for some reason. That said, we are getting messages that the rewards are being delivered. We will make sure every backer receives their rewards.

Domestic U.S.: At this point, it seems most (I never say All) packages have been delivered in regard to the revised Dungeon Guides and those few ancillary missing items from a few backers. Again, we are watching tracking on those that are dragging. At this point, if you have not received the revised Dungeon Guide or other materials by the end of this week, please shoot us an email or private message so we can correct the issue.

Moving Forward: We are now working on some exciting new products for the BX game including new adventure modules, a campaign setting, and other supplemental items. We always go back and revise existing products – there is always room for improvement. Therefore, I want to reaffirm that any items you backed or purchased through KickStarter or BackerKit will be distributed as they are revised, changed, modified, or redesigned. It might be something as simple as redrawn maps, adding new art, etc. Any revision will be distributed to you via PDF through BackerKit. You were here from the beginning and we appreciate that.

This coming weekend marks the annual North Texas RPG convention. While we have attended every one of these (and we live in Michigan), we cannot attend this year due to the Covid 19 issue. However, Pacesetter is running all of our events virtually – ALL of which are BX RPG events including the 10th annual D&D tournament. So if you are interested in signing up virtually, I think some slots are open. Also, we will be offering a special NTX discount; Pacesetter is always one the convention’s largest vendors. We also give back to the con.

At sometime this week we will distribute a PDF of 16 NPC characters to all BX RPG Backers via BackerKit. They are all 5thlevel characters and we are using them as the pre-gens for the BX D&D tournament this year. I hope you get a chance to use them in your own campaign.

Lastly, we want to thank you sincerely for being a part of this project. No, it didn’t go as planned and we made a few missteps. That said, the gaming family that is BX enthusiasts are a fantastic group and we have received so much support, well, we are humbled and thankful.

All the Best,

Bill Barsh
